Savoir-Faire
The skill. The soul. The story behind every stitch.

A Note from the Atelier
“At our Atelier, every garment begins long before it’s stitched. It begins in silence — in thought, in memory, in intention. Ours is a universe where threads carry legacy, not labels. Where a sketch isn’t just a design — it’s a feeling waiting to take form.
Where the hands that make are just as honoured as the pieces they create. We don’t chase trends. We return to truths. To the rhythm of craft. The quiet joy of making something that matters.
Each piece you find here has travelled through time — shaped by heritage, guided by soul, and held together by care. From women-led clusters across rural India to our studio in the city, every stitch is a collaboration of trust, tradition, and tenderness. This is more than fashion. This is our way of offering beauty to the world — gently, consciously, and with grace. Thank you for stepping into our story. We hope you wear it as your own.”
Payal Jain
Our Philosophy
At Payal Jain, sustainability is at the heartbeat of our atelier. Every decision, from the choice of fibre to dyeing and printing techniques, embroidery techniques, usage of embellishments and trims, to the final finishing stitch, is guided by a single question: Will this honour both the earth and the hands that made it?
We believe true luxury lies in restraint — in making less, making well, and making things that endure. Our creations are not designed for a season, but for a lifetime of wear, love, and passing down generations as heirlooms

Materials That Respect the Earth
Natural Textiles:
We work with handwoven silks, cottons, and linens sourced directly from artisan clusters across India.
Plant-Based Dyes:
Gentle on the planet and on the skin, our colours are derived from nature itself.
Sustaining Embroidery Heritage:
We partner with artisan clusters across India to keep age-old embroideries alive—placing their work on handwoven silks, cottons, and linens, coloured with plant-based dyes—so the craft endures and livelihoods grow.
Repurposed Elements:
Discarded fabric scraps are reimagined into detailing, trims, or entirely new pieces — ensuring minimal waste.

Craft as a Sustainable Practice
We collaborate with master weavers and women-led artisan groups whose traditional techniques require no industrial machinery and consume significantly less energy. By sustaining, preserving and propagating these crafts, we also sustain the communities and cultures that keep them alive. Every garment in our atelier carries the soul of its maker — from the warp and weft of Banarasi silk to the intricate Chikankari embroidery — preserving skills that have been passed down for generations.

Our Atelier Practices
Zero-Plastic Policy: From production to packaging, we avoid single-use plastics.
Low-Waste Cutting: Patterns are designed to maximise fabric use and reduce offcuts.
Small-Batch & Made-to-Order: We create with intention, avoiding overproduction.
Ethical Work Environment: We provide safe, respectful, and supportive spaces for every artisan and team member.
Bespoke Refitting : Our atelier repurposes our pre-loved garments to fit the next generation of art lovers, with sensitivity and precision so they can be treasured as heirlooms..
Sustainability Beyond Clothing
Our commitment extends into every sphere — from products to home furnishings, art installations and interior projects that celebrate natural, local materials designed for longevity. We believe sustainability is not a trend, but a mindset — one that shapes everything we make and everything we choose not to make.
Craft & Heritage
Where tradition is not preserved in glass—but worn, reimagined, and passed on.
Our craft legacy spans generations and geographies. Across India, skilled hands breathe life into ancient techniques—each thread, motif, and pattern rooted in memory.
To honour these diverse practices, we’ve dedicated three chapters of our craft story:
